I graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in 1990, at which time I completed 1600 hours of training and received my certification as a massage therapist. The Atlanta School of Massage has been named one of the most prestigious massage schools in the country by USA Today and the president of the American Massage Therapy Association. I was trained in a variety of techniques including deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, Swedish, reflexology, pregnancy massage, polarity and energetics, aromatherapy, and sports massage. I studied anatomy and physiology at both the Atlanta School of Massage and at the University of Southern Mississippi. Since my graduation in 1990, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings. Each environment that I have worked in has enriched me on both
professional and personal levels. I have worked with psychotherapists, physicians, chiropractors, massage schools, and in destination and day spas. I spent several years as an instructor at both the Atlanta School of Massage and the Pensacola School of Massage. While teaching I continued to maintain a massage practice both privately and in day spas. Most recently, I spent a year and a half working with the Del Mar Sports Chiropractic Group; the official chiropractic team for the San Diego Chargers. Over the years and in each place that I have worked, my belief in the power of massage to assist people in their healing has been validated. One of my most rewarding experiences as a massage therapist has been in volunteering massage therapy to hospice patients. I see massage therapy as an integral part in ones healthcare. No matter whom you are or what you do, from the athlete to the person who is terminally ill, massage therapy can have a profound effect on the physical, mental, and emotional states of the body. It is for this that I continue to work, grow, and learn as a massage therapist. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that through my work I have and am able to help someone heal and find balance in their lives. I truly love my work as a massage therapist and it is with gratitude that I am able to assist people in healing body, mind, and spirit.
